About Me

ABOUT MY WORK Moments of inspiration are often brief and fleeting, There's a painting in almost everything I see. A simple piece of fabric blowing in the wind, transforming in sunlight and in shadow. The fragility of old and decaying objects, and the imense satisfaction of watching a sky transform from light to darkness. It is these quickly passing moments of inspiration that I seek to capture in my work. My paintings build in layers of rich acrylic or oil paints, with an instictive and intuitive recognition of colour and texture.I paint with an unpredictable freedom, following my internal guidance and feelings. The process fills me with overwhealming excitement and passion. I don’t always seek to convey an underlying message but aim to allow the viewer to discover their own connection and interpretation of my work.. Training 1995 ‘A’ level Art. Grade ‘A’ 1995/1996 foundation studies art and design, one Distinction 1996 – 1999 BA Hons Degree, 3D, 1st Class Hons. Please visit my website. chrissyguest.co.uk

what a fantastic start to 2010. Lots of snow and some fantastic inspiration for new paintings in 2010. I have lots of new work at www.saffrongallery.co.uk, its a small friendly gallery in Battle well worth a visit and the High streat there has some interesting shops and cafe's/ There's a good pub too and of course a great Abby to visit/ Well worth a day out. I've been so busy keeping up with work and my own web that I haven't been on here much. I've even tried to do twitter but never have time. Anyway it's a new years resolution to try a bit harder so lets see how long it lasts!!
