Brighton Art Fair

Hi, I will be exhibiting a new body of work on stand 22 at the Brighton Art Fair ,

Hi! and welcome to my blog. I am a professional artists working and living in Brighton. I have set up this blog as a place where people can look at my paintings and learn a bit more about me as an artist. I've had such a great 2009. I managed to publish my work with Bloomsbury publishing which is an absolute honour. I've also had a solo show, interest in my work grows daily. I now have a great selection of paintings at http://www.saffrongallery.co.uk/, and have taken a brief departure from my larger pieces and have made smaller framed work which I'm really pleased with. Lets hope we all have a great 2010. onward and upward.

How long has it been since I looked at my Blog. I have friends who write theirs up like a daily diary, oh to have the time. I had a really exciting year last year and I was able to spend time developing my art. What a luxury. Now I have raised my profile with some great editorials in magazines and I even did a half hour live chat on Radio !! The things we do to earn a crust. I suppose I suddenly opened my eyes to the things around me, not that they were closed before. But I was always struggling to settle on a subject matter in my paintings. I took time out and read a few arty books and delved deeply into the work of the St Ives artists, who's work I have always loved. I started walking the Sussex Coast and suddenly realized I had everything I needed to inspire me right here. Since then I have concentrated on capturing the feeling of the Sussex Coast in all my work, and I can honestly say I am really enjoying it.
